Senior Project Manager
 

GlassHouse Senior Project Managers oversee the day-to-day activities of project teams, and are responsible for the on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of services to our clients.  

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the high quality delivery of Professional Services (Strategy Services and Design & Implementation Services) to our clients and works within a designated Practice area within the World Wide Delivery team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a successful Project Manager with client relationship management, technical pre-/post-sales experience, and exposure to people management.

  • Ability to apply knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.

  • Detailed understanding of PM methodologies and tools (standard and emerging trends) i.e. PRINCE 2 Practioner Certified.

  • Complete understanding of Project Management Knowledge areas: Scope, Time, Cost, Risk, Quality, Human Resource, Communications, and Procurement Management and Vendor Management. 

  • Fundamental understanding of storage, data and backup skills.

  • Ability to guide and direct the work of a multi-functional team.

  • Ability to identify, manage and mitigate project risk.

  • Ability to identify, manage and mitigate team/project conflict.

  • Strong verbal communication skills, especially for presentations to clients and in managing team members.

  • Consulting craft, professional services business acumen and commercial acumen.

  • Clear understanding of storage strategies and concepts.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership, negotiation, commercial acumen, problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong understanding of markets, opportunities, and competitors as well as business issues and challenges.

  • Understanding of the sales and delivery process.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations to GlassHouse customers and employees. 

  • MS Office and MS project. And other tools as required

  • 4 years plus proven experience as a successful Project Manager on projects with external clients. It is a requirement that Senior Project Managers have experience of running large programs and demonstrated client relationship management experience. 

  • Detailed knowledge of the storage industry and associated emerging trends.  Knowledge of the different GlassHouse services and offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project planning, coordination, and tracking; resource management, project deliverables including internal and external processes, client relationship management, decision-making, and facilitation.

  • Produces project plans, status reports and fee reports in a timely and accurate manner.  Ensures other project documentation is produced as necessary in line with the GlassHouse standard project life cycle.

  • Reviews project deliverables for content and accuracy.

  • Ensure customer service delivery adheres to documented agreements and Statement of Works.  Able to manage client relationships and build consensus and trust in GlassHouse delivery.  Coach others on client agenda and customer ownership.

  • Coaches and partners with Project Managers and Project Leads.  Provides intellectual leadership for their teams by generating key ideas and conceptual frameworks to help guide team members.

  • Acts as the ‘hub’ of team communications through internal status meetings, team updates, and client status reports.

  • Prepares and facilitates Initiation Workshops, Initiation Stage Workshops, Stage and Project Exit reviews.

  • Establishes and monitors overall budgets and monitors project profitability/margin.  Maintains on a weekly basis the GlassHouse internal RAG report.  Maintains on a daily basis the Daily Project Notes to extract Risks and Issues and to ensure that they are mitigated and resolved.

  • Participates in all staffing decisions upon designated projects.

  • Manages change control and exception reporting with the client and the team, highlighting cost and time impact.

  • May include the management of vendor(s).

  • Contributes to methodology, asset development, and other discipline leadership activities.

  • Supports business development by participating in presentations, helping to scope and structure proposals and production of accurate Level of Effort estimates.

  • Maintains accurate and timely project records within QuickArrow to allow management to track project margin, resource availability, planned v estimate tracking, project completion and project milestone invoicing.

  • Provides timely performance reviews (oral and written) for individual team members upon the completion of each engagement.

  • Identify efficiencies and anticipate/resolve potential problems.  Use creative approach to problem-solving that broadens client and team thinking.  Design, perform and oversee key areas of analysis and technical decision-making.  Guide overall technical/functional approach.

  •  Support the development and ensure the refinement of offerings; practice strategies, standards, policies and procedures.
